I became a vegetarian nearly 10 years ago, mainly because I couldn't stand the thought of having animals slaughtered for consumption. That thought, coupled with the fact that I grew up with my parents being vegetarian, made the decision easier. I also have lived in progressive cities that are focused on health and wellbeing for the past six years, so vegetarianism no longer means salads and veggie burgers. The options really are endless. I believe as more and more people focus on their health and the environment, vegetarianism will only become more widespread.
